How Ethnic Pride and Aspirations Were Visualised in the Caribbean 1920 -1955.

This project centred on the development of Caribbean Art from 1920-1955. We interviewed artists, art historians, curators andcollectors in Jamaica, Trinidad, Martinique and Panama. As well as viewing  public collections in the region, we had access to a number of impressive personal collections and were able to speak with some of the most iconic figures from the Caribbean artworld. Among them, Dr David Boxer, Barrington Watson and Peter Minshall.

Funded by The Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Travel Fellowship.
