East London Dance Workshops are underway!

Here’s an update on TURNING POINT’s latest co-created dance workshops in London – another wonderful template for arts, heritage and wellbeing inspired by Black heritage storytelling (coming soon to our new website)!

In 2024 we launched TURNING POINT’s London programme in fine style, with co-created Dance workshops facilitated by (project partner) West London’s ‘Dance West’ – and led by genius choreographer absolutely at the top of his game, Nicholas Norman – here’s a blog about this activity by Sweet Patootee Arts Coordinator Aadya Verma.

Once this first TURNING POINT (London) Dance activity was up and running, we began planning a 2nd London dance activity in East London with two awesome project partners: Newham’s (legendary) Hibiscus Community Centre, and Sadler’s Wells.

But get this: It was only when we were well into planning our East London Dance workshops that we learned, genius choreographer Nicholas Norman is a member of Sadler’s Wells Learning and Community Partnerships Dept – and he was happy to work with us again!

Our East London Dance workshops launched in February (2025). Fast forward now to the showpiece finale of 12 brilliant rehearsal sessions – facilitated by an absolute dream team of community participants and project partners.
