Our Mission
We aim to imagine and build a more just world by amplifying the voices of those whose history has been neglected and believe in the power of art and inclusive storytelling for positive change.
What We Do
We produce high-quality films and heritage projects using oral testimonies and archive resources as the inspiration. These films then become the catalyst for public engagement in museums, galleries, learning establishments, community hubs, and online. We involve participants from diverse backgrounds in making the work, and we collaborate with partners across the UK (and internationally) to devise and deliver Arts and Heritage workshops.
Our History
Sweet Patootee Arts was founded in 2017 by Tony T and Rebecca Goldstone after twenty years working together as Sweet Patootee Ltd. Together, they produced films for clients such as BBC and Channel 4, and became the first producers to bring the story of the British West Indies Regiment in WW1 to a British prime time TV audience. Wanting to continue this heritage work, they founded the non-profit arts and heritage strand Sweet Patootee Arts to create educational films, museum content, Heritage, Learning and Facilitation Projects and public presentations.
