Mapping the Change is Hackney Museum’s landmark ‘people’s history’ of East London – and their major contribution to the Cultural Olympiad that marked the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Sweet Patootee delivered 55 diverse oral history life stories, and edited audio compilations and text for panels that featured in 9 exhibitions. Conducted over 2 years with support from the Heritage Lottery Fund, the oral histories span nearly 100 years – describing events, people and places – evoking communities, workplaces, attitudes, traditions and values past and present.
