The First Black Britons

60 minute Historical documentary, Produced by Sweet Patootee.

Role:

Originator, researcher, writer and producer.

Through the story of the West India Regiment, this documentary uses primary sources to explore diversity, identity and citizenship in Britain and the Caribbean from 1795 to 1927. We filmed on location in the UK, Jamaica and Barbados and worked with actors from the UK and Jamaica to interpret key events. It is aimed at teenagers and referenced to the secondary curriculum (K.S. 3&4)
