Thanks Birmingham for a great Community Conversation event…

This post will be of special interest to Oral History and Community Participation practitioners.

On 6th April, TURNING POINT’s public arts & heritage programme took the Sweet Patootee Arts team to Birmingham, supporting the trial of a mega 4-hour gold medal-winning hybrid – using the screening of our 1920s-set “TURNING POINT” period drama as catalyst for a vibrant Community Conversation.

The session was devised and led by rising star Lisa Kennedy with our fantastic partners The GAP Arts Project – community participants came from all over the city.

Our report interrogating this session will be a resource in its own right – coming soon to Sweet Patootee Arts’ new website courtesy of our dangerous genius evaluator Jenni Waugh

Much respect, love, and thanks going out to all who enabled this wonderful activity – special mention to our caterers. But I think pix of this event courtesy of our AV guru Trevor Price capture the session wonderfully. Here’s a sneak peak.

TURNING POINT’s Community Conversation was supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
